Employment Type: Full-Time; In-Person

Expected Hours: Monday – Friday; Rotating Weekends at the hospital

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physician Assistant to join our expanding team. This full-time position is based at our Gilbert (East Valley) location, with coverage at Banner University Medical Center – Phoenix, a Level I Trauma Center.

Under the supervision of our Interventional Radiologists, the APP will provide care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting patients throughout the continuum of their interventional radiology treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Outpatient Clinic Responsibilities:

  • See patients independently and/or in collaboration with attending Interventional Radiologists for new consultations and follow-up visits.
  • Evaluate patients, determine care plans, and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Order and interpretlaboratory and imaging tests, prescribe medications, and coordinate procedural scheduling.
  • Maintain relevant forms and assist in developing clinical protocols and workflows to support ongoing growth.

Hospital Responsibilities:

  • Performimage-guided procedures (as trained and credentialed), including venous access, biopsies, paracentesis, and tube exchanges.
  • Conduct IR consultations, inpatient rounding, and outpatient follow-up encounters.
  • Assist in evaluating catheters, drains, and post-procedure outcomes.
  • Coordinate communication with referring providers, nursing staff, and IR technologists to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Plan and implement appropriate follow-up imaging, labs, and clinical visits for continuity of care.
  • Triage and respond to IR referrals and clinical inquiries from patients, families, and providers.
  • Bill appropriately for all IR encounters in accordance with compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Arizona Physician Assistant license or eligible
  • NCCPA certified.
  • DEA license or eligible
  • BLS/ACLS certifications required at the time of hire.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a licensed Advanced Practice Provider; prior Interventional Radiology, procedural, or critical care experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of diseases commonly managed through interventional radiology procedures and associated treatment options.
  • Experience evaluating abnormal labs, diagnostic studies, and interventional complications.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive history and physical examinations, identify key medical issues, and create effective care plans.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
