CTG is partnering with a long-term Fortune 500 client to fill an IT Support Specialist role.

Type: Contract

Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Location: Painted Post, NY

Pay Rate: Up to $21.15 per hour

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Job Description:

This role is for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting users, and working with a mix of software and hardware. You'll provide both in-person and remote support across Windows environments, Microsoft applications, and corporate systems. You'll own tickets through resolution or escalation, document your work, and keep communication clear along the way.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts and permissions in Active Directory

• Troubleshoot Windows 11, MS Office, Cisco VPN, Citrix, and Office365

• Install and configure software including Adobe tools, Check Point, printers, and IP telephony

• Support mobile devices and common browsers (Edge, Chrome, etc.)

• Handle hardware deployment, ordering, imaging, and asset management

• Use ServiceNow for ticketing, updates, and documentation

• Assist with user desk moves, device setups, and Smart Hands tasks

• Join project work and collaborate across teams

Required Experience & Skills:

• 1+ year of hands-on hardware support beyond basic imaging

• Windows OS deployment experience, preferably Windows 11

• Basic Command Prompt and PowerShell knowledge

• Good troubleshooting instincts and communication style

• Ability to multitask without losing track of priorities

• Interest in growth and learning new tech

Education/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred

• Preferred certifications: CompTIA ITF+, A+, Cloud+, Mobility+, Network+, Server Performance Expectations:

• Meet SLA targets and follow service management processes

• Provide professional, helpful customer support

• Document work promptly and keep users and leadership updated

• Maintain accountability for workload and escalate when needed
