*This is a 6-month Limited Term position; May be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent*

Staff Services Analyst:
Under supervision of the Information Officer II, the Staff Services Analyst assists with gathering and analyzing information for use in contracts and budgeting; preparing reports, research, and recommendations; preparing presentations; logistics and materials procurement, and providing support at virtual and live events; and events management. This position assists in the development of Marketing and Outreach campaigns and analysis of campaign outcome reports.

Associate Governmental Program Analyst:

Under direction of the Information Officer II, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing information for use in contracts and budgeting; preparing reports, research, and recommendations; preparing presentations; logistics and materials procurement, and representing the agency at virtual and live events; and events management. This position assists in the development of Marketing and Outreach campaigns and leads the analysis of campaign outcome reports. The incumbent is responsible for the review and accuracy of information and is required to meet critical deadlines.

Working Conditions

Candidates who are new to State Service will be hired at the minimum of the salary range.

Hybrid telework schedules are available. The amount of telework is at CalHFA’s discretion and is based on operational nee ds.  IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE WILL BE REQUIRED WEEKLY .

Our office is in 500 Capitol Mall , a high-rise building conveniently located in downtown Sacramento with access to public transportation (light rail and bus) and freeways (I-5, 99, and Business 80). It is one block from Downtown Commons (DOCO), the Golden 1 Center, and many restaurants. Employees also have access to an ATM, Panera Bread, bike lockers, and a gym, all located in the building.

  • BE LIST ELIGIBLE:
    Pass the State civil service examination for the classification you are applying for (either  Staff Services Analyst or  Associate Governmental Program Analyst )

OR

  • BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE:
    Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250)

OR

  • BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE:
    Previously obtained permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Governmental Program Analyst

Either I
One year of experience performing the duties of a Staff Services Analyst, Range C

OR II
Experience : Three years of professional analytical experience performing duties in one or a combination of the following or closley related areas: budgeting, management analysis, personnel, planning, program evalulation, or policy analysis

AND

Education: equivilent to graduation from college
Staff Services Analyst

Staff Services Analyst (5157) - CalHR

Education:  Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade; 

AND

Experience:  Four years of experience performing analytical, technical, clerical, and/or customer service duties. *(Academic education from an accredited college/university may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.) 

* Transcripts or degree must be submitted with application if using education to substitue experience.
