Position Overview

What You’ll Be Doing 

Payroll Processing, Audits, and Reconciliations: 

  • Process semi-monthly payrolls for multiple business units in various states.
  • Conduct ongoing payroll audits
  • Reconcile medical and dental benefit premiums, 401(k) contributions, cash, and payroll earnings on a semi-monthly basis 
  • Ensure accurate reconciliations of tax filing and deposits 
  • Confirm year-to-date amounts are accurately reported on W-2’s 
  • Verify accurate tax profile setup for visa employees 
  • Process weekly certified payrolls and submit reports to WA L&I, CA DIR, or other contractually required systems 
  • Build and calculate prevailing wage project payments 
  • Comply with WA/CA/OR/Federal prevailing wage requirements related to fringe benefit management and overtime calculations. 

Compliance and Benefits: 

  • Update 401(k) contribution changes and collaborate with the Benefits team on employee eligibility 
  • Onboard new employees and maintain employee files in HRIS and accounting software 
  • Perform payroll verifications and certifications 
  • Stay updated on federal and state payroll laws
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Prevailing Wage 
  • Address agency notices in conjunction with the payroll services provider 
  • Set up garnishments and 401(k) loans 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all payroll processes 
  • Participate in ongoing professional development

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Work closely with employees and managers to resolve payroll-related questions 
  • Collaborate with the Benefits and Payroll teams regarding compliance, regulations, and updates to the payroll services platform (Paycom) 
  • Liaise with the Data team to guarantee accurate payroll processing 
  • Foster teamwork with other internal General & Administrative (G&A) teams 

Qualifications



Who We’re Looking For:

  • At least 5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll 
  • Experience with WA/CA/OR/Federal Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll 
  • Bachelor’s degree or CPP preferred. 
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations. 
  • Proficiency in HRIS and accounting software. 
  • Excellent customer service and support skills. 
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. 
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Duties are typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table 
  • Ability to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day and communicate over the telephone or virtual meeting platforms. 
  • May occasionally need to lift items up to 15 lbs. 
  • Work in the downtown Seattle office up to 5 days/week, with flexible work hours between 7 am and 5 pm

Compensation:  

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate with 5+ years of experience is $85,000 to $93,000 . Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center. During the interview process, we'll provide detailed information and address any questions you may have about the overall compensation package and benefits.
