LOCATION: Marc Dutton Irrigation, Inc
POSITION: Service Manager
HOURLY RATE/SALARY: $65,000 to $75,000
REPORTS TO: CEO and President
ABOUT US: We install, maintain, and design irrigation systems for our clients. Our irrigation systems are designed to deliver lasting satisfaction with an emphasis on the latest water-conserving features and high-quality components.
SCHEDULE: - In-Season 6:45AM-5:00PM Mon-Fri; Rotating Saturday Coverage 6:45AM-12:00PM
- Off-Season 8:00AM-4:00PM Mon-Fri (adjustable and flexible based on seasonal need)
- Core hours may require to be adjusted as other roles may require; for example when covering for another team member whose core hours differ from this
- Seasonal definitions are determined and adjusted by CEO / President
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Valid Driver License in good standing
- 5-7 years of experience in a people management role (required)
- 5-7 years of experience in account management (required)
- 3 years of experience in creating estimates and proposals (required)
- 1-3 years of experience in irrigation or related field (preferred)
JOB DUTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: - Manage scheduling for all accounts under your supervision and ensure all personnel are present as scheduled, adjusting schedules as needed due to call-ins or absences while coordinating with office staff on scheduling needs.
- Leads a team of technicians to ensure efficient and effective repairs and installations.
- Coordinate with clients to confirm upcoming appointments and ensure service schedules are aligned. Confirm service dates with customers in advance.
- Meet with technicians in the morning to review the day’s tasks, providing necessary documentation or information related to their jobs.
- Monitor all communications, including emails and voicemails, to promptly address urgent messages or updates from technicians, clients, or vendors, while reviewing and responding to emails, creating bids and proposals, and submitting project requests. Provides a same-day response to urgent issues and a 24-hour response to routine inquiries.
- Collect inspection reports from technicians, generate and send repair proposals to customers, and save them in the appropriate location. Upon approval, schedule repairs and confirm details with clients.
- Create proposals based upon analyzing the data received, measuring the success of past similar projects, communicating with the technicians, and finally arriving at a dollar amount for the requested work
- Problem solves and negotiates with new customers regarding project costs and bids
- Meets business demands and ensures timely completion of all tasks by working extended hours/days during peak busy season
- Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting issues such as electrical or plumbing problems, and assisting with equipment repairs as needed.
- Design and oversee the installation of residential irrigation and landscape lighting systems, from initial design to final implementation.
- Manage holiday lighting projects, including the sale, installation, service, and removal of Christmas lights.
