Job Title: Video Producer

Report To: Chief Marketing Officer

Job Summary

The Video Producer is a full-time position on the Blade HQ marketing team. We're a passionate team of creators, curators, and gear nerds who believe in quality, creativity, and delivering killer content to our community. Video content is a core part of Blade HQ's marketing strategy. We're searching for a creative and driven individual who can ideate, plan, shoot, and edit engaging short- and long-form video content on a daily and weekly basis. The ideal candidate lives and breathes visual storytelling and is fluent in the latest video trends. If you're a self-starter who can keep pace in a fast-moving content environment, this job is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Production & Filming

• Develop and pitch engaging video concepts that align with Blade HQ's brand identity and target audience
• Inject humor into videos (cut-ins, memes, pop culture references, etc.)
• Shoot and edit a variety of content-including short-form (Reels, YouTube Shorts) and long-form (YouTube episodes, product showcases, interviews)-on a consistent, weekly basis
• Lead video projects from pre-production through final delivery, including planning shoots, managing production schedules, and overseeing on-set execution
• Upload videos to YouTube multiple times per week, including thumbnail creation and video description when needed.
• Operate professional camera systems, including Sony mirrorless and Blackmagic cinema cameras
• Set up and operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to ensure professional-quality production
• Film trade show videos, designer vignettes, and shop tours of manufacturers in our industry. Some travel required.

Editing & Post-Production

• Edit raw footage into polished, high quality videos using DaVinci Resolve with an emphasis on storytelling, pacing, and visual polish
• Optimize video content for multiple formats, including social media, website, and email
• Collaborate cross-functionally with content, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment with brand objectives and campaign goals
• Organize and manage digital media assets, maintain efficient post-production workflows, and ensure timely project delivery
• Support live production efforts, including setting up and running live streams using Blackmagic ATEM switchers and OBS streaming software

Strategic Content Development

• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop video concepts that align with brand strategies and campaign goals.
• Research trends in video storytelling, social media formats, and audience engagement strategies to keep content fresh and relevant.
• Maintain a strong understanding of video best practices, including platform-specific requirements for YouTube, Instagram, and other digital channels.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in video production or a similar role (a strong portfolio is a must)
• Experience creating content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital platforms
• Proficiency with DaVinci Resolve
• Color grading is strongly preferred
• Ability to work with multi-track split audio/multicam timelines
• Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and audio recording techniques
• A keen eye for visual storytelling, branding, and audience engagement
• Knowledge of current trends in video, especially in EDC, gear, or enthusiast culture
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Physical Demands:

• Safe handling of knives and other edged cutting tools
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Sitting and/or standing for long periods

Work Environment:

• Spend time in the studio, office, and on-location
• This is an on-site position. No freelance or remote

Bonus Points:

• Passion for knives, EDC, gear, or outdoor lifestyle content
• Familiarity with motion graphics or animation
